When you donate a vehicle to most charities, it rarely stays in their hands. In fact, your call often goes to a call center in another state, where a third party collects your information and passes it along to a local tow company. That company then takes your car to a dealer-only auction, sells it “as-is” — no repairs, no marketing, no disclosures — and typically for the lowest possible amount. Only car dealers or salvage buyers are allowed to bid, and the sale often brings in very little.

We Do It Differently — And Locally

We’re based right here in Las Vegas, and we handle your vehicle donation with the care and attention it deserves. When you donate to us, we typically pick up your vehicle ourselves using our dedicated tow truck. Then, we have trusted local mechanics inspect and assess the vehicle.

About 99% of the vehicles we receive need some level of repair, and thanks to years of industry relationships, we get those repairs done for a fraction of what the average person would pay. We invest in roughly 75% of the vehicles we receive, because we know that a car in better condition generates more value for our organization — and a better tax deduction for you.

From new paint, tires, glass, lights, and emissions fixes to more complex mechanical or cosmetic upgrades — we put the work in.

When Repairs Pay Off

Only around 25% of donated vehicles aren’t worth fixing and are instead sold for parts or scrap. But for the rest, even minor improvements make a major difference. For example, a car with faded paint might sell for $300 in rough condition. With a $400 paint job, that same car could sell for $2,000. That’s a $1,600 difference — and a much larger deduction for you.

We’ve restored everything from cars, motorcycles, RVs, boats, and aircraft to heavy equipment and golf carts. If it has wheels or an engine, chances are we’ll take it — and do more with it than anyone else.

Bigger Sales = Bigger Tax Deduction

Here’s where our approach really pays off for donors.

The IRS allows you to deduct the gross sale price of the vehicle — not the “as-is” value at the time of donation. So if we fix your car and sell it for $2,000, you get to claim $2,000 on your taxes, even if we spent hundreds improving it. That’s a big win.

Most vehicle donors who’ve worked with other programs are surprised by how much more they’re able to deduct with us.

Selling to the Public — Not Just Dealers

While we used to operate a retail lot, the shift in the economy forced us to pivot. We now sell vehicles through MotoBucks.com, a public auction site where anyone can bid, not just licensed car dealers.

Even better, we don’t rely on the auction alone to find buyers. We actively advertise our vehicles on multiple platforms to generate more interest and better sales prices. The result? Our vehicles often sell for twice as much as those sold through traditional charity channels.

No Guesswork, No Waiting, No Surprises

With us, everything is transparent and fast:

  • You receive a donation receipt at the time of pickup — no waiting weeks for something to show up in the mail.
  • When your vehicle is sold, we send you a completed IRS Form 1098-C (if the sale exceeds $500 and we have all required info).
  • Your deduction is based on the actual sale price — so there’s zero confusion or estimation involved.

DMV & Title Transfer Support

The donation receipt we give you doubles as proof that the vehicle is no longer your responsibility. You can:

  • Take or mail your license plates and the receipt to the DMV,
  • Use the DMV’s online vehicle transfer tool, or
  • Let us drop your plates off for you. (Due to Nevada privacy laws, the DMV won’t give us your surrender receipt, but your registration will be canceled immediately.)

Insurance Cancellation and Registration Credit

Once the car is picked up and the title is signed over, our insurance takes over — meaning you can cancel your policy right away.

You also have up to 60 days to turn in or transfer your plates (30 days for specialty plates). If your current registration is still active, you’ll receive a credit toward your next vehicle’s registration, which could save you quite a bit depending on how much time is left.
